Directions
Bangor and the Anglers Rest are very easy to reach, whether travelling by car or public transport. Belfast City centre is a 25 minute car journey away, or 35 minutes by train.
By Air
Belfast International Airport: The airport bus runs to Belfast City Centre every fifteen minutes. It stops at Great Victoria Street bus station, which is beside the train station. The train to Bangor runs every half hour on weekdays
George Best Belfast City Airport: This airport is closest to Bangor. Near to the airport is a footbridge over the dual carriageway to Sydenham train station. The train to Bangor can be caught from here.
By Train
Bangor train station: After exiting the train station in the direction of the town centre, continue towards the shops along Main Street. You will reach some traffic lights at the top of a hill. Walk down the hill towards the sea. At the bottom of the hill, cross the road at the pelican crossing towards the Flagship Centre. Keeping the sea on your left and the shops on your right hand side, continue walking past the shops (McCullough’s, Café Cod and the Rose and Chandler pub). At High Street, cross the road at the pelican crossing and continue straight on, with the sea on your left, past the Marine Court Hotel and the Royal Hotel. Continue straight on past the Black Boat, the Tourist Information Centre and cross the road towards the Tuck Shop, walk along past the Bangor Bay Inn into Seacliff Road and the Anglers Rest is the 6th house along on the right hand side, No 24.
By Car
From Belfast direction : If coming from Belfast, follow the road into the Bangor Town Centre. Continue straight through the first set of traffic lights. From the first of two small roundabouts until the second (about 50 metres), you will see the bus and train station on your left. Continue straight ahead into Main Street, through a pedestrian crossing, to another set of traffic lights with the Northern Bank on your right. Carry on straight ahead down the hill to a set of traffic lights. You should approach these lights in the left hand lane. Follow the road round to the right and continue along Quay Street with the hotels on your right hand side. Continue along to the Bangor Bay Inn, where you will see a mini roundabout. This is the beginning of Seacliff Road and from here, and the Anglers Rest is the 6th house along on your right hand side, No 24.
